He attended St. Louis public schools and earned his baccalaureate degree from Harris Teacher’s College. He earned his master’s degree at St. Louis University and his advanced certification at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. He earned his Ed.D. at St. Louis University.

Dr. Stevens’s professional experience is both broad and varied. He began his career in the St. Louis Public Schools and held several positions including Principal and Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent.
